The CALL TO ARMS EVENT introduced Lismore to some very competitive football over 2 days. All players wore yellow armbands to promote men's health awareness raising funds for the cancer council.
The annual event brought along some very close matches on the Saturday with all 3 qualifying matches having a final margin of 1 goal or less. The Swans then challenged Jimboomba in the qualifying final and stepped up to win comfortablly to go through to Sundays Grand Final.
The heat took a big impact on the players in their first hit out and the Swans playing an extra game leading up to the final on the Sunday proved too challenging as Warwick stood firm to take the Cardinals Cup for the first time.
The Swans took a lot of positives out of the weekend with new recruits Scott Brown, Andy James, Ryan Kuchel and canadian recruit Kael Herman all showing that they will provide positive contributions to the Swans in 2012.
The Swans still have a few weeks of preparation before round one and will need to get all their players down to training in order to gel as a team come the season opener.
Thanks to all who helped out over the weekend to make the event a success.
