Knowing the importance of this match and the sight of Lismore sitting on top of the ladder in addition to the previous loss to Carrara were great motivators in a strong Wednesday night win over the Saints.
The Swans won the toss and kicked with a 3-4 goal breeze however the Saints held the Swans well in the first term kicking the first goal of the term before the Swans hit back with 2 goals to take a 8 point lead into the first break.
Carrara started strong in the second term with the breeze however a late raly with goals to George Massa and Kael Herman but the Swans up by 9 points at the main break.
Nothing in the match until half time and the Swans needed to put in a big performance in the third term to try to break the game open and that they did. The Swans played their best quarter of football for the season in a real inspirational effort. The backline stood strong and repelled everything. The midfield dominated with great ruck work by Shaun Wadwell who was assisted by Rhys Lavery and Daniel Moloney. While the forwards dominated led by captain George Massa and Will Kent who assisted leading forwards Wesley Seewald and Dean Webb to kick 7 goals to zip in the third term and take on a massive 51 point lead into the final break.
The last quarter was interrupted after a big tackle was put on by ruckman Shaun Wadwell however the Swans were able to hold Carrara and finish off with a 52 point win.
An all round brilliant performance by all 22 players who participated in this victory which know sees the Swans on top of the table.
Best on the day were George Massa, Rhys Lavery, Angus Legoe, Shaun Wadwell, Daniel Moloney and Daniel Bruce.
George Massa kicked 5, Will Kent slotted 3, 2 each were kicked by Wesley Seewald and Daniel Bruce while singles went to Christopher Fielder and Scott Hillier.
The Swans now have the weekend off before tackling the improved Byron Magpies.
