Pumas Finals Bound "#The Year of the Puma" continues & its great to see nearly all Puma teams are well placed to play finals this year. The Seniors & Reserves are on top, still undefeated & playing champagne football. U18s are currently 2nd & on target to play in the combined conference best of the best finals. U16G are 3rd but have just defeated the 2 teams above them. U14s are 2nd only separated from top spot by percentage. U12s are clear 4th & guaranteed finals action. On top of this our Masters team has discovered some awesome form & have won the last 3 in a row. Well done to all but there's still along way to go!
Adult Trivia/Disco/Fundraiser Night is not far away!..09-08-14..6.30pm Many people always ask how they can help around the club. Well here's a great easy & fun option. Please support this Puma major fundraiser on 09-08-14 by purchasing a ticket asap. Its only $20 each, which includes a meal & quality entertainment. It will be a great value night out aimed at junior parents & seniors. If its anything like legendary previous nights an absolute guaranteed laugh & great time will be had by all.
To read a report on the last Trivia/Disco & view photos click here: Trivia Disco 2012 This may give you some idea on what to wear & how much fun is to be had. Please support YOUR CLUB in the organising of this vital fundraiser by purchasing a ticket from your team manager or at Puma bar asap.
The Theme....people can wear anything really. Its a movie, rock & pop star theme, past to present, so come dressed as your favorite (most usually do & its a real laugh). However, to conclude the night it will end with an 80s style disco so just throw on some old acid wash, mullet...etc if thats easier.... or just come in normal clothes. As long as you attend is all that really matters. It is always a brilliant night & hopefully this year will be no exception.
The Trivia....Is based on the theme, easy & not taken seriously. Its more about having a good laugh & socializing with your fellow parent/senior group whilst interacting, singing & dancing the night away.
Kids Disco...Friday 15-08-14 Our Kids Disco will mark the end of the Junior (U6-U11) season in 2014 so bring the family along & celebrate the year. Brisbane's most popular interactive kids DJ will be supplying the entertainment .There will be videos, lasers, smoke, bubbles, snow, games & prizes. Children 9 & under must have a parent supervising. We are also trying to organise a footy game for the family to watch on the oval after the disco. All family & friends are welcome. Entry is only $5....at the door
Fill the Hill Had many great reports of both seniors & juniors having a great time at the recent "Fill the Hill" senior game. Many thanks to those who attended.
U18s off to Melbourne God help Melbourne!..The annual Puma U18s footy trip to Melbourne/MCG games is on this weekend. I am sure all will be behave & have a great time!
St Pauls Pumas to play at Gabba On this Saturday 26-07-14 the St Pauls Pumas will be playing at half time during the Lions v Suns Q clash. What an eye opener & wonderful experience this will be for this rookie team. Good luck guys!
Lions Visit Pumas It was fantastic to see 2 Brisbane Lions player come interact & train with the junior Pumas tonight. The kids drilled Daniel Rich &
Marco Paparone with some tough questions in the clubhouse.
After this the Lions came out & trained with the teams & evening concluded with autograph signing. There was smiles all around, even from some of the older folk.
Milestone Games Great to hear of so many loyal Puma players reaching milestone game tally's either in the near future or the last few weeks. U14 Connor Page & Luke Reinbott, U16 Riley Brandenburg & Jai Kennealy all 100 Games, U16 Mitch Osland 150, U14s Mitchell Free 50, U12s Jacob Blacker & Zac Stein 50, U11s Max Ryman & Kyle McClure 50. Oval GrantIt should be obvious that the Pumas have a very active committee who volunteer their time & are always looking for ways to improve the club. Our number one priority for awhile now has been to improve the oval surface. With limited resources & funds our volunteer groundsman has done a terrific job through the years. However, after years of ware & tare we believe it needs a complete resurface. Currently the club has applied for 2 potential grants to help. So everyone cross your fingers & hopefully we will soon receive some good news.
Life Education At the Pumas not only do we try to make great players we also try to educate players with life skills. We have to thank Aaron Hall from the AFLQ who recently came to the club & conducted a presentation to our U16s group on how to deal with confrontation. Not only on the field but also in life. This presentation was a first anywhere & was prepared with input from Pumas. The parent & players feedback was so positive the format will now be used at other clubs.
Clothing Its getting cold so dont forget to purchase the new SAFC hoodie jumpers & jackets. All are available for sale at the Puma bar.
GO PUMAS!
