2017 Begins now
As this article is being written, behind the scenes there is plenty already happening at Swansland to prepare for 2017. The Lismore Swans 2017-2021 Strategic Plan is in draft stage, and the mantra is simple- ‘Bring experience in to the club, people with proven success’.
It seems very simple, but in reality it is often few and far between that proven successful people whether with a football background, or in business walk to Mortimer Oval and request to join the team in the town with the joining rivers. But the current committee which term is nearing an end before the Annual General Meeting on September 10 are not stopping in perusing a strategic plan to invite success to our great club.
“We want to see Lismore become the Benchmark Club, to grow in every aspect of our football operations and build success, but to help us drive this, we are seeking people with proven success and inviting them, encouraging them and educating them as to why the Lismore strategy is possibly the most important strategy anywhere in this country football wise. A strong Lismore is a strong Australian Rules Community in the Northern Rivers and the barriers of our geography will finally be broken down” Club President Philip Tsourlinis explains."
"People with an infectious influence, who can inspire a club and leave a system in place that will steer the club for the next decade with all the challenges we face, are vital in helping Lismore reach its dream, to become the Benchmark Club in the Northern Rivers”.
The Swans committee have created a Vision Statement, a set of Values, and the Pillars of Success to help drive the message and help anyone understand the direction the Club wishes to take. It’s a bold strategy and one that does involve some risk, but has principles and checks in place to ensure the strategy is heading in the right direction. The Strategy will be available this Spring and invites everyone to not only check it out, but join us in helping to drive it forward. The Swans want this to reach as far wide as possible, and attract a new experienced breed of leaders and champions to our club both on and off the field.
The Swans will begin the Coaching process on Wednesday 31 August when it allows anyone interested to start sending in their Coaching Applications. More on this tomorrow.
