Lorne is a beautiful seaside town not far South of Melbourne, where the rich and famous have holiday houses and most famous for its "Pier to Pub" annual ocean swimming race.
For Nathan Winter, playing footy there was in some ways a "coming home" experience in that he was raised just a hundred or so clicks up the road in Portland. (Born in good old Queensland though in Roma just a couple of hundred K's North West of Toowoomba).
Nathan started his footy doing the Auskick thing at Portland and graduated through the under 12's, 14's, 16's and 18's as a midfielder, whilst scoring a spot in the Western Border Rep sides along the way as well as winning the Under 16's B&F.
In 2005 as a 19 year old Nathan made the big move North and joined the Tigerland family at Noosa playing all 19 Senior matches that year.
2006 saw him enjoy another successful year and he was a member of the Tigers Grand Final side that went down to Western Magpies.
All up he has worn the Noosa jumper at Senior level 72 times and says he loves playing in the nidfield or half forward line, whilst he has also been assigned tagging roles on key opponents from time to time.
Away from footy, Nathan is a mechanic and hops on a board, gets out fishing or heads off with the sticks, whilst he also loves a social game of hoops.
Known and respected for his toughness over the ball, his strength and fitness, we welcome you back home Nathan and all at the club wish you well for the 2010 season.
