Vice President: Derek (Dozer) Clough
Dozer moves earth for Susie and for a living. Originally from Glenroy in the burbs of Melboure, Dozer and family made the move north in 1991 and the more important move from Southport to Broady in 2005. Third year on the Committee and has risen to the great height of Vice President in that short period. Carries a knife when close to El Presidente Rolfey’s back.
Married with three billy lids: Ryan, to continue as a Cat; Tom, to try his luck at Commera; and Keegan a Cat. Wife Susie is nominated as a kitten. Dozer is one generous and kind man except on the golf course.
His early sporting background included boxing (light heavyweight) and marital arts which he developed into the martial art Tae Kwon Doe. Turned to footy later in life and played 7 years in the magoos at Oak Park losing two GFs along the way. Made up for that when playing in the Southport Old Boys where he never once handballed to Nev Fankhauser but they did win two flags. Made lifelong mates at Southport and has brought a few of them over to Broady and on to the Committee. Dozer has a softish spot for the Woodsmen - thinks Dane Swan is a relative of Princess Mary - drinks white only when he runs out of red, and horses around with Rolfey – go the Rock. Enjoys the atmosphere at Merrimac and while perception is reality, for some reason reckons there is a bunch of hard working genuine people at Broadie. Wish list includes creating the best pizza he can in his outdoor oven, umpiring in the Old Boys, and watching the Cats develop as a competitive and financially stable unit with players and supporters sporting a healthy respect for the club.
Geoff Bower: Director of Football
Difficult to track down, Geoff is in his second year on the committee and from time to time makes a contribution or two. Originally from Surfers club he has assumed responsibility for the Football Department and has used up his frequent flyers signing up recruits for 2011. Apparently indefatigable , Geoff is either at work, at the footy club, negotiating with player agents, running an employment agency, brokering units/flats for incoming recruits, linking Broadie into the broader Broadbeach community and surf beach, aiding and abetting a cultural shift, horsing around with Rolfey and Dozer, and organizing the Grassroots Luncheon which will become the seminal footy function on the coast – make that Queensland. Its secret is magic in its simplicity as is it disperses funds to any and all AFL clubs who participate.
Married to Kerry and the Broadbeach Cats (formerly the Brisbane Bears and Peter Knights), they have two children Ryan (player) and daughter Amy.
The Pope is often seen in Geoff’s company as he heads to beatification, - Geoff that is - and is not often seen in Andrew Hilditch’s company. Geoff lactates in the presence of Matt Angus.
