It appears that after further investigation the wrong player has been blamed for the incident involving the broken jaw of Swans Player Darren Moncrief.
According to the players involved Darren made heavy contact with the hip of Tigers giant ruckman Brennan Lye in a fair contact between the players moments before the second incident involving John Cassidy and a separate Swans player.
Strope has a massive bruise on his hip to prove it. This was supported in the media by the Swans Coach who stated he thought the contact with Darren was fair.
John Cassidy was not involved in this incident at all, which was inaccurately reported in the Northern Star.
John’s contact was with a totally separate Swans player (George Massa), which then resulted in John being sent off after a scuffle.
The Tiger’s regret that any player received such a serious injury in what is just a game of football and wish Darren a speedy recovery.
