Brisbane Lions star utility Brent Staker headlines a contingent of Brisbane Lions players to attend the Western Magpies Sumer Skills Academy this Friday night.
Staker who has made 154 AFL appearances will be joined by local products in Jono Freeman (Kenmore) and Jordan Bourke (Sherwood) passing on their knowledge of skill development and talk about their journey from junior football to the elite level.
The current AFL stars will compliment a strong coaching group that has been assembled by Academy Coordinator Paul Grentell and 2015 Western Magpies Head Development Coach Quentin Johnstone. Into its third week players from clubs across the western suburbs have been tutored by some of the area’s finest products in former AFL listed Pat Garner (Brisbane Lions),Ed McDonnell (StKilda) and Jackson Allen (Gold Coast Suns) as well as Western Magpies premiership players Reid Dobson, Chris Mihalopoulos and Matt Skubis.
This Friday night is a great opportunity for local supporters and prospective players for 2015 to get down to the club to watch our future stars in action under the guidance of some of the Brisbane Lions finest.
