Ongoing knee problems has resulted in long term Roos player Sam Weuffen pulling up stumps following the reserves win over Nambour at the weekend.
Sammy was an integral part of the Senior Roos backline since he moved to Maroochydore from Warnambool in 2007. However a badly broken ankle in the 2010 semi final loss to Burleigh and then ongoing knee issues saw Sam pull back on his footy committments.
He then completed arguably the hardest task in footy..... convincing the coach that he should swing forward. He justified the move last year, takling out the league goalkicking medal playing out of the square in the Reserves squad.
Thanks for your service, Sammy. We all wish you the best of luck on the other side of the fence.
