WELCOME TO SEASON 2016
Sign-On Weekend - 6th & 7th February 2016, 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, Club Function Room
On-line Player Registration for Season 2016 is now available through the Aspley Hornets Web Site.
The majority of you would have received an Email from the AFL Brisbane Juniors which is the Email address as you have registered on the AFL Data Base. This will enable you to register “on-line” for 2016. Or if you are registering for the first time with Aspley the process is as follows:-

The Sporting Pulse On-Line Registration System has been updated so that whether you pay on-line or at the club you now pay the same amount. Any families with more than one child can now register and pay on-line as the system allows for the club discounts and membership. It just asks you to register the eldest one first.
Most Important – note:- If you are coming to the Club to sign on you must have your Email address with you. With the new privacy laws the Club has not been issued with your re-registration details.
If you have not registered your child prior to the 7th February 2016 your child will not be able to train as he or she will not be covered by insurance.
New Registrations: (Birth Certificate required) Forms can be downloaded from AFLBJ Website or available at the Club.
Club Membership details must be updated. Each family is entitled to 1 x Full membership and 1 x Social membership. Social membership can be upgraded to a Full membership at a cost.
Please note: The new Aspley Hornets Club Membership Cards will not be available until after sign-on weekend.
Registration Fees: Auskick= $70- U6 and U8=$146.50- U9 and U10=$248.50 - U11=$265.00- Youth=$275.00

Coaches and Training times for Youth Football: All of our Age Group Coaches have been appointed for 2016. Coaching appointments for the lower divisions will be made as soon as possible after confirmation on player numbers.

Note: If you intend playing this year but are unable to attend sign-on, or commence training, you must contact the Coach for your Age Group prior to commencement of training.
Season Fixtures
Junior Fixtures - Under 6s to Under 11s will commence Saturday 16th April 2016 – last game Saturday 20th August 2016
Youth Fixtures – Under 12s to Under 17s will commence Sunday 17th April 2016 – Grand Finals Weekend of the 10th and 11th September 2016
“Team Allocation Night” for Junior Football: (U6/U8/U9/U10/U11)
- The night involves selecting Coaches, placing players into teams and training arrangements.
- Coaches who have nominated must attend.
- Players from 2015 do not have to attend if they are in the previous years’ team with the same Coach.
- That coach will contact those players to confirm training arrangements.
- One Parent or Guardian of any new player should attend the Allocation night to ensure your child is allocated into a team that suits, i.e. training nights or to be in a specific team with friends.
- Parking could be an issue because of Senior Training, so we encourage you to use the main car park.
- Under 11’s Monday 7th March 2016
- Under 10’s Tuesday 8th March 2016
- Under 9’s Wednesday 9th March 2016
- Under 8’s Thursday 10th March 2016
- These Allocation nights will be held at 6.00 pm
- For new players in the Under 6s and returning Under 6 players we will be running 2 one hour training sessions on Saturday mornings from 8.00 am to 9.00 am at Aspley to teach skills and game day practices. These will be held on Saturday 12th / 19th March 2016.
- If you are unable to attend the team Allocation night or training please contact Reevesie asap.
Trivia Night
TBC. A Saturday night in June: This night is our only major fund raiser for Juniors so please support this function. As usual each team is to donate a prize for the Raffle, can be in the form of a basket of goodies, movie tickets etc. it does not need to be expensive. Individual donations will be accepted - you might have a business that is able to donate. We will promote that business on the night with advertising, flyers etc.

Club Umpires:
Each season we ask our young footballers from Under 13 up to assist the Club and put their hand up and become an Umpire for our Under 8 / Under 9 and Under 10 games. To become an Umpire you have to attend Umpiring training sessions and be prepared to Umpire our Junior Home games of a Saturday morning. You receive a Club Umpire uniform and a small remuneration for Umpiring. Please contact me, (“Reevesie”), if you are interested.
AUSKICK:
The Auskick program will commence at Aspley, Graham Road on Friday the 12th February 2016 at 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm and at Brendale on Saturday the 13th February 2016 at 8.00 am to 9.00 am for six weeks.

Director of Junior Football and Junior Sub Committee
The Director of Junior Football is appointed bi-annually to enable a central source for communication with the Junior members of the club. Ian McTaggart is currently the Director of Junior Football. A Junior Sub-Committee is also formed and it is advisable that this committee be limited in numbers to enable efficient operation. The Junior Committee will be introduced to Coaches and Managers prior to the season commencing. Junior Sub-Committee Meetings (about 4 a year) are held on an as required basis as the season progresses prior to various functions. However please we need volunteers for our Junior Sub-Committee.
