The Noosa Tigers welcome new recruit, Joel Lambourn, from the Maffra Eagles. Joel grew up in the Gippsland town of Maffra, 220 kms east of Melbourne, and played his junior football there. Apart from three years at the Boisdale-Briagolong Bommbers Joel has played all his senior footy with the Maffra Eagles.
Joel is a Richmond Tigers supporter and, after quite a bit of thought, nominated Trent Cotchin as his favourite AFL player.
Coming to the Sunshine Coast gave Joel the chance of a "change of scenery" and after visiting Noosa and meeting the coach, players and others he decided that Noosa seemed like a pretty good club and somewhere that he could fit in.
When asked if there were an football highlights he could mention he told us that he would get back to us on that one, although he did mention that one big disappointment was playing in a losing grand final side.
Joel is 27 years old, 187cm tall, 80-85 kgs and plays on the half back flank. When he's not playing football or working as a concretor Joel loves to play basketbal and go fishing.
