Ed Barlow (born 27 January 1987) is an Australian rules footballer who formerly played for the Western Bulldogs and the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He currently plays for the Wangaratta Magpies.
Barlow was originally from Tathra, New South Wales, representing his state in the under-15s which made him eligible for the Swan's pre-listing. He attended Scotch College, Melbourne as a boarder from 2003 to 2005. 2005 saw him as the sixth pick in the rookie draft. Given a second year on Sydney's rookie list after playing impressively in the reserves in 2006, he made the most of his chances when he played with the club's seniors towards the end of the 2007 season.[1]
His debut came in round 20 against the Brisbane Lions and he gathered 18 possessions.
He was promoted to the senior list for the 2008 season. He was not offered a new contract after 2010 after playing just 25 games in four seasons.[2]
Barlow was then drafted by the Western Bulldogs with the 55th selection in the 2011 Rookie Draft.[3] Barlow made his debut for the dogs in round 12 2011 against the saints at Etihad Stadium, then was amongst the best the next week against Adelaide at the same venue. He kicked his 1st goal for the dogs in that match.
Ben Warren (born 11 February 1989) is an Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Recruited from the Zillmere Eagles in Queensland at pick 69 in the 2006 AFL Draft by North Melbourne.[1] Warren spent two years in development,[1][2] playing in the VFL, for Tasmania in 2007 and Werribee in 2008, before making his senior AFL debut for North Melbourne in Round 4, 2009.[1] Warren impressed coaching staff of the club with his performances, especially his four-goal haul against Brisbane at Etihad Stadium in Round 10. Warren played nine consecutive games after his debut, but broke his leg in Round 13[3] and missed the rest of the season.[2] Despite his broken leg, Warren was re-signed by North Melbourne in August 2009, with list manager, Cameron Joyce, stating that "It was a priority for us to lock Ben in", due to interest being shown in the Queensland native from the new Gold Coast team.[1]
The 2010 season became Warren's best, having his best pre-season,[2] and playing 16 matches, kicking 21 goals. He only played three games in 2011, and only a single game from the first ten in 2012, despite being the leading goalkicker for North Melbourne's reserves team, the Werribee Football Club in the Victorian Football League.[4]
Warren was delisted by North Melbourne at the end of the 2012 season.[5] He continued playing with Werribee after being delisted, and he was the leading goalkicker in the completed 2013 VFL season including finals with 59 goals (he finished third in the league's goalkicking award, the Frosty Miller Medal which is based on home-and-away goals only).[
