SENIORS
Noosa had almost double the shots for goal as their opponents but apart from Kent Delbridge who bagged 4 in another top display, goals were hard to come by.
Big powerful forward Ryan Jeffreys was proving a real handful in the air only to squander his earlier good work. Jefferys finished with 2 however a big bag is not far round the corner from what this writer saw on Saturday.
In a scrappy affair, where skill errors from both sides were plentiful, the work rate of ruckman Jason Coleman did not go unnoticed whether it be in the air or fighting for the ball on ground, Coleman was my pick as Noosa’s best and whilst Jai Fitzpatrick and debutant Bents gathered a fair bit of the ball the Tiger on ball brigade were held pretty well.
Where the Noosa boys continue to dominate is in defence where there clean up and miser are a massive reason behind the 3 straight wins.
Laskey and McKittrick are having stellar seasons and were among the best once again whilst Lambourn, Woods, Opie and Wallace coincide with support, poise and skill. A really important and telling unit within the team is Noosa’s defence at present.
All in all a terrific win at a ground that recently hadn't been too kind to the Tigers.
The Rococos Bar and Bistro Noosa Tigers do have some injury concerns with names like Copeland, Cameron, Trompf, Westell and Hill all in doubt for this Saturday’s home game v Yeronga South Brisbane.
Plenty of quality in the twos though where Danny O’Brien’s boys sit on top and undefeated in season 2017.
See you at Tigerland on Saturday. Go Tigers! Cheers Pittsy
RESERVES
Coloundra have improved heaps from last year and it showed in the first qtr. The reserves were very reactive and second to the ball. Caloundra cut us apart through the middle but i had complete confidence if we could just win our own footy, things would start to turn around and they did.
We had five players in this week that had done no preaseason and very little training. As expected it was tough footy just like the last two week against maroochydore and cooparoo. Big Logan Thornborrow (our ruck man) lead the way with his presence and desire to attack the ball. Keiran (one of our mids) played his best game so far - his closing speed is supreme. Jamen Warren, Tom Hedley and Tom Robilliard all had consistent performances.
It's becoming very hard to pick the best 5 players each week which is great sign going forward. It's an exciting time to be a part of the All Star Reserves
