The Rococo Bistro and Bar Noosa Tigers sit equal top of the Division 1 Hart Sport Cup ladder after another victory over the Burleigh Bombers on Saturday. It was a long trip down to the Gold Coast for all the players with many staying overnight on the Friday night to prepare as best as possible for the clash. This professionalism was key to the Tigers bringing the correct mindset to a possible danger game for the men in blue, yellow and red.
The Tigers were fantastic in the opening ten minutes and clearly set the tone for the match. In wet conditions from plenty of rain the night before, the Tigers bounced out to an early lead kicking 5 goals to 2 in the first term. As per usual, the midfield was on top with Templeton, Hill, Fitzpatrick and Coleman giving our forwards plenty of opportunities to score. The rebound run from the backline was also impressive from Laskey, McKittrick and Lambourn, with the Tigers extending their lead at the main break.
Faure praised the team’s ability to stick tough during the wet and difficult decisions. He asked the team not to get comfortable with their current lead and to push ahead. The ground continued to remain heavy all day as the Tigers continued to fight their way through tough conditions. Harry Maher was fantastic for the Tigers and showed immense courage for his age. Nick Hill had a game for the ages with 4 goals and easily 25 touches. The Tigers ran out 51 point winners to win 5 matches in row and sit equal top with Coorparoo. Next week’s match is at home against Bond University. See you all there.
Cheers, Pittsy
